RAJULA INC, PRESIDENT MAY 1996 TO PRESENT

(Successfully completed a number of assignments in start-ups, brand building & setting up of retail and distribution networks. Industries included consumer package goods, toys, food service, automobiles and high-end luxury products)

  • RETAIL: Created a unique 4000 sq. ft. indoor playground, birthday party center & toy store "PLAY PARADISE" (www.playparadise.ca) in Metropolis at Metrotown, Burnaby BC. Currently setting up a national franchise network for the playground. Successfully sold Thomas the Tank Engine wooden railway toys via a retail kiosk at the Oakridge Center, Vancouver. Expanded the retail and distribution network for S.T. Dupont, Paris in India.

  • MANAGEMENT: Set-up business operations for Greek Stop (Greek fast food) in Vancouver. Launched L.A. Promotions, a unique event management company (part of Barrow Gordon Associates Ltd., U.K) in India.

  • MARKETING: Created and implemented a launch and brand positioning strategy for the Kinetic K4-100 bike in India.

  • BUSINESS & CAREER COACHING: Currently providing one on one coaching to a cross section of successful professionals via www.rajula.ca. Also offering executive coaching and training to small and medium size business owners and senior executives.

  • Completed various search assignments for senior and middle management positions.
  • Obtained & managed an ongoing exclusive Retainer contract with L'Oreal Canada Inc. for various marketing positions.
  • Other retainer clients included Rothmans, B&H; American Express and CIBC.
  • Was part of the internal management team and specialized in contract negotiations.

Successfully launched India's First Laptop computer "Magnerra".
In 1993, "Magnerra" was rated as India's best laptop computer in sales, customer satisfaction and after sales support & service [Source: Data Quest, India].

1993-1996

  • International Company Development: Spearheaded the creation, development and successful launch of “SUSCO BRAND” food products in over 20 countries around the world. During various stages of the assignment, was based in Moscow, Singapore, London and Bombay. Directed and managed overall worldwide operations for “SUSCO BRAND”.
  • Sales & Business Development: Achieved over $5 million in annual sales in the first year and grew “SUSCO BRAND” to over $20 million in 4 years. Traveled extensively throughout the world for business development and negotiated strategic tie-ups with various international companies.
  • Marketing & Advertising: Created and implemented a worldwide marketing and brand promotion plan. Oversaw the designing, writing & production of a variety of advertising and marketing materials including brochures, direct mail, newsletters and print ads. Participated in various international trade shows to promote products & conducted extensive market research.
  • Product Development: Was instrumental in the creation of the entire product range including packaging design. Worked closely with production departments at company plant to conceptualize and create new product lines.
  • Personal & Training: Created, developed and conducted various training programs for international distributors in all aspects of sales, marketing and product knowledge.
  • Budget Management: Administered funds allocated for various projects. Analyzed budget variances and initiated appropriate strategies to optimize expenses.
